Heavy objects can cause serious injuries if handled incorrectly. There are many types of injuries that can occur when moving heavy loads. Some of these include herniated disks, sprained ankles, torn ligaments, and muscle strains. Here are some examples of how accidents happen when people aren’t careful with handling heavy loads:
-Back injury: Bending over to pick something up off the ground puts a lot of strain on your back because it has to support all of the weight being lifted by your arms. If you don’t use proper technique when lifting heavy objects then this could lead to back injuries like herniated disks or ruptured ligaments in your spine which would require months of physical therapy and possibly surgery as well!
-Neck injury: If you’re not careful when lifting heavy objects then you could hurt your neck because all of the weight is being supported by your arms and neck muscles instead of having some help from your legs like you should. This would cause things like neck strain or even worse – spinal cord injuries like spinal cord compression or contusion which could lead to permanent paralysis if not treated immediately!
The key to moving heavy loads without getting injured is preparation. It’s important to know what you’re doing and how much weight you can handle before attempting any type of lift. A person should always use proper techniques when lifting heavy objects. For example, you should always lift with your legs and keep your back straight. When bending over to pick something up from the floor, make sure to bend at your knees so that your back doesn’t have to support any weight. If you don’t use proper technique when lifting heavy objects, then you could end up hurting yourself badly!
Here are some tips on how to stay safe when moving heavy things:
- Start slow. Build up strength by practicing with lighter weights before trying something heavy.
- Don’t rush! Take your time when lifting so that you don’t get hurt.
- Make sure you have enough space around you so that if something does go wrong, no one will get hit by the object flying through the air.
- Respect your limits, do not try to lift or pull loads that are too heavy (see the image below).
- Wear sturdy shoes with good traction so that you have better balance and grip while moving heavy objects around.
- Wear gloves to have a good grip so that you don’t overwork your wrist and finger flexors.
- When the load is to heavy, use equipment that can help you such as a harness, a hand truck or a trolley.
